He Is A Poetaster Poem by Francis Duggan

He Is A Poetaster

Rating: 5.0

He will never be looked on as one worthy of note
And he will always be an unfashionable poet
Though he has penned many a come all ye song
To the masses his type cannot hope to belong,
He is a poetaster who dreams of renown
But he will never become the toast of the town
And for him there never will be a parade
Tis said about poets they are born not made
His verses they may not stand the poetic test
But he deserve credit for trying his best
Tis said one is never too old for to dream
And in that sense to others he's no different 'twould seem
And though others his name may not know to recall
The need for recognition it is in us all.
