He Is Kurd Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

He Is Kurd

He is Kurd

He is Kurd
From land claimed by:
'We are Turks! '

I smile
Sometimes laugh
On jet of memories
Studies and the facts
I go deep…
Deep, deep, deep
Into time of Greece, Persia

Then question:
'Where were they if ever? '
'Where from are the Turks? '

Then go to 'Book of Kings'
Fereydun's three sons
Salm, and Tur, and Iraj
The middle headed Turks
Around North of Oxus.

Came Islam, Muselman
And the rule of Othman
Their failure, great loss
Ata Turk brought change

I smile
Sometimes laugh
Since same book, 'Book of Kings'
Refers to Kaveh who saves many of the youths
Given chance they go to Kurdistan…
(In a way…Assyria)

I smile
Sometimes laugh
I see that he is not only one
Refuge is an old story
It has been for long time…
Rulers are brutal and impose
Look at now, elections…USA's
