he lay in the lush of
green
and of night-dews just fallen
still wet and fresh and prim
and glittering
though the sun's rays had not
full risen.
Life that willed to be a prim Donna.
He agreed, anyway, consenting.
An so he jovial walked to Hastings Gardens
And lazed the day on the benches
Just watching, hearing, observing with
A little thinking.
He stayed there for he lived lonely.
And the night only saw him back in his house.
