He reaches down His hand
When we least expect
But with the slightest touch
Can have the greatest effect
He reaches down His ear
To listen to our troubles
And when we need Him the most
He'll be there on the double
He reaches down His heart
To soothe our weary souls
To help guide us a long
Is His one true goal
He reaches down to others
To send us a long a friend
So, if we're down and out
They'll speak His words for Him
He reaches down the rains
To cry along with those hurtin
Then sends us His rainbow
To tell us He knows for certain
He reaches down His eyes
To watch over us night and day
To make sure we're doing things right
As He guides us on our way
He reaches down His love
For us to share among our friends
And He'll keep sending us more
Right up to the very end
He reaches down to you
And He reaches down to me
For His love is the only thing
That comes to us as free
When He reaches down to you
Be sure to take hold and pass it a long
For us to be selfish with his love
Is surely taking it all wrong
