He Says 'I'Ll Call...' - Poem by arundhati sinha

He says,
'I'll call you back.'
The line's dead before
the 'o' reaches 'k'.
I feel shifty,
irritated.
A thousand things
blur past
my suspicious mind.
The thoughts give
shape to a woman.
Before i can scold
my insecurities away,
the phone rings;
'i missed you beautiful..',
he says.
