He Still Wears Poem by Gary James Smith

He Still Wears

Rating: 5.0

He Still Wears

He still wears His wounds from Calvary
As a testimony of what He gave to atone
The cost of our sin too much to pay
For us to settle that debt alone
There was none other so willing
None other of such innocence
He who knew no sin became sin for us
When we had no way of recompense

His Resurrection as our sure hope
He lives! ...Hallelujah Christ lives
He never hid the scars He bore
As the proof of how much He loves
Talk about an endurance test
Lord Jesus went the extra mile
When He could just as easily resigned and said
" I think I'll throw in the towel"

His love for sinner's held Him fast
Fast to an old rugged Cross
Where in fully witnessed agonizing pain
He paid for us...sin's highest cost!
O Hallelujah...O what a Savjour
Who met the criteria of God's demand
A sinless sacrificial offering
Through the death of Calvary's Lamb

Now our Shepherd praise God He leadeth
In the paths of Righteousness
The Spirit as our Guide and Comfort
With plenty of grace to bless us no less
What a journey with that Saviour
Who goes before us to light the way
Yes Hallelujah..O what a Saviour
I'll gladly acknowledge Him any day!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
