He Was Hunted Poem by Richard Jarboe

He Was Hunted

He was hunted,
He was haunted,
He was wanted,
By the State.

He was bitter,
He was packing,
But the Law doesn't wait.

He used every trick in the book,
But still on the hook,
Then shot down in a pub,
He was dreaming... there's the rub.

Fate don't wait,
When your time's up,
Fate don't wait,
When the door's shut.
