Hillbilly At Heart Poem by Richard Jarboe

Hillbilly At Heart

I did not know you was gone
I was mowing the lawn
Still hillbilly at heart.

Our love couldn't last
Like our love for the grass
Still hillbilly at heart.

You mowed me down when I met you, baby
You made green pastures fade away
Now that it's over, I'll bet you, baby,
I still be making hay, hay- hay- hay

I did not know you was gone
I was mowing the lawn
Still hillbilly at heart.
