Healing - Poem by Debbie DrummondHay

Seemingly enticing me to breathe
not as the crumpled soul
but as the hopeful innocent
aware, yet withdrawn,

Would I risk my bleeding soul
expose the dehydrated heart
to fill it up with love?
risk all for a smile?
for healing?

My truth will not be denied
possibility has crept in
love may flower within me
burst out of me
I am healing.
