Hear Me Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Hear Me

Rating: 5.0

Maybe I'm destined to be distraught
Never learn from the lessons I'm taught
On my knees in the dead of night
Praying someday I'll see the light
What once seemed so right, now is all gone
Brokenness leaving me feeling withdrawn
Why is it good things rarely last?
Why is it so hard to let go of the past?
I wish you would try to hear my voice
But you closed your heart, it was a choice
Love is not a game, it's not pretend
A broken heart sometimes will never mend
The last thing I want is to bring you down
I'm letting go as tears fall to the ground
My skies have, once again, turned gray
Why must things be in such awry?
In a far away country will I find solace?
From a love, I believed to be so flawless
As time passes by we must look deep inside
Expose the feelings we try so hard to hide
Sometimes to grow we must first feel pain
Peace in our hearts is what we all want to obtain
