Heart And All Poem by Paul Warren

Heart And All

Do you still set a place for them
At the dining table at day's end
Handily polishing their knife and fork
And make with them the usual small talk

Do you leave their bed turned down
After putting on their favourite sounds
All those things they used to do
Bring a smile or a tear to you

But those were different days past
When you thought that it would last
And the things that you now recall
Keep them alive in your heart and all.
