Heart And Angst Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Heart And Angst

This heart, your angst
Two form-able entities of life
Fighting to exist
And persist
Upon the dread
Foiled by each days survival
Fighting onward
With all of our might

Such strength within them both
Woven ever so powerfully
Flowing with so much energy
Through all pain and frustration
Great loses and despair
Certain redundancies
Unorthodox abundances
And through all of this
We just want peace
Within our minds
But this world
It wants something else

What does it want?

Does it want the ill to be sicker?
Does it want more abuse for the abused?
While the more than loved
Are loved even more
Tell me is this what we all really fighting for?

There is a big picture, somewhere
One with a map
To show us where to go
Guiding us to where we really belong
But did we bury it within our hearts mistrusting?

We share so much of our differences
Whether if we know it or not
We are unified in an unconditional force of devotion

Tired of how society preys upon
The helplessly demised
Those who are too weakened
By the demons given to them
By the current time structural entities of plight

And through this all
We somehow stay balanced
Though I wish you knew
How I truly felt
Then my angst
Would be your heart as well

But I know
You are full of good intentions

Certain situations
Put walls around us at times

As we close ourselves
Off from the world
We put ourselves
In a whole different dimension
One created with our own emotions
Confused yet disenchanted
Yet, bittersweet all at the same time

And at the same time
We have opened up
For things
That never had any right to be here
As our hearts burn from breaking
Our stomachs tied in knots
With the unsuspecting predictability
Of something we saw coming
Yet, we thought the pain
Would be worth the sacrifice

We were wrong
Society has a way
To create illusions
Confusions
Of what may be wrong
Or what may be right

You are my heart, you are my angst
I am your heart, I am your angst
And together we are always together in spirit
Somehow

Even if we try to deny it
It surrounds us
Makes us who we are
Warriors fighting
To better each of our own
Independent lives

And even with that
We share the same intuitive desires
And I know deep down
You know this to be true

Did you know we had this much in common?
Who do you think this is directed to?
Our heart, our angst
That is who

Are you ready to find the truth?
I can feel it already
Can you?

If not, I can wait
There is no rush to be found

Our hearts, our angst
Together they will be unified at last!

Just search within
And all will be solved

Our hearts, our angst
Together at last!

Brave on strong!
