Heart Demands Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Heart Demands

Heart demands

Soldier I;
Say; reply:

"Yes Sir"
Or
"Yes Madam"
To demands of logic.

Have done so for too long
It is time to depart.

I want me
Free of this nonsense.
Must try,
With efforts,
With thrust.

Let them say: "Brainless."

Want to be a snake
Leave behind old skin
Want to be set free.

Want to leave;
Be cleaned
Of judgements
Of logic…

Want to be the lamb's meat
Cut and packed after peeled.

Want to be the calf's veal
On table and in dish.

Want the knife of butcher;
-Cut open my skin
-And blow hard in it.

Heart demands:
"Better love than logic."
