Heart, a hidden treasure everyone knows
But no one dares to reveal and never vows!

Battling heart, the victim of so many rows
See; how the outer jeers veer your toes!

Societal sanctions sue anything but arrows
Dejection brews from injection of early sows!

Lust makes us dust without making any ado
Derogation, denial, not heartburn but avow!

Transmogrification comes when heart blows
Heart filters ego out; mind fosters it to flow!

When battling with Ego drives to hollow
In a fix, follow your Heart; let the Ego go!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem examines the clashes between the Ego and the Heart. Arguably, an individual's Ego more often scores over the Heart. To overcome the Ego, the poet throws light on its hind side and its existential repercussions portraying how to discard the Ego and listen to the affinity of Heart to retain the aura of amity. Ego poisons the mind while Heart cleanses it to make humanity sustainable. So, the moral of the poem is - always listen to your Heart even though Ego is the front-runner in the internal introspective queue.
