Heart Of Mine Poem by Edwina Reizer

Heart Of Mine

When I search my heart for pain
the source I find is you.
For all other things that trouble me
are small in comparing the two.

Heart of mine you must be still.
You must only have what's yours.
Life goes on and still you beat.
You beat upon closed doors.

Open the doors. Release the pain
and get on with simply living.
Focus on how you make me breathe
and help me be forgiving.

I'm curious as to how this heart of mine
has a will all its own.
I sometimes feel it controls my brain
for it never leaves me alone.
