Heartless Anorexic One Poem by Lauren Ellis Leung

Heartless Anorexic One

Used to have a heart that beat so strong,
Had everything I ever wanted,
But you,
The one thing you said to me changed it all,
'I can't be seen with you 'cause you're so fat'.
This stopped my world,
Time seemed to pass by so slowly,
Depression swept over me,
I soon became a zombie,
Heartless,
A soulless wanderer.
My friends flew without a clue,
I'm now anorexic,
I can't be changed so easily,
The burn in my stomach -pure agony,
I may be a wreck but in my mind I'll soon be perfect.
The body just for me,
Every things falling together ever so simply,
I'm my own worst enemy,
No one can help me.

You can't let what people say determine the direction of your life. I hope you get better, I won't tell you what to do with your body, but at least think about what you're doing. Nevertheless, this is a great poem, about a terrible part of society.
