Heat-Wave Expense

Not cool
in any sense but less-hot
cat-shit-smelling air
I tolerated
for that one sense;
but from where I slept
on the floor
by the open front door
I hated cats the more,
and that!
was my heat-wave expense.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
it's that rotten cat next right door
and those insomniac smokers next left door
sitting out the back stopping me from sleeping out there.
