Heaven Has Left Me Poem by Ashley Fortin

Heaven Has Left Me

</></>Heaven has left me here
I wish for the will to turn back time but no answer follows my hopes
though I stand on my feet
I am pulled to the ground
I can see the sky but I cannot reach it
I see a map but cannot find you
though you so seem so close
you are so very far away
Heaven has left me here
I'll fend of all my demons
all my past
all my fears
through tears I am not defeated and yet by the thought of you
I am struck down
I see my soul pour out of me
like blood
and I cannot stop the wound from feeling
This pain is amplified by the vision of you and the truth behind the matter
Heaven has left here
and I can't get back up
I cannot reach the sky
Heaven has left me here
without you
I am left to die.
