but we’ve done things really great.

Like wearing new jeans and a new shirt.
Your face changes from its state of playful dismay,
To one that's ridged and defaced with betray.

You killed a man yesterday and watched him pass away
You looked into his sad eyes and thought about today

You thought about the lonley sidewalk he decided to take that night

There is a letter under my bed,
In the darkest corner, waiting to be read.
There is a meaning in each word -
A silence no one else has heard.
