Hellfire Poem by Ron Burn

Hellfire

Rating: 4.8

Last night I dreamed a deadly dream
A dream which seared my soul
The central character was myself
Going down an abysmal hole

I passed through zones of eternal night
Through zones of searing flame
I saw with ever mounting fright
Outlined in fire, my name

I saw devils, demons, goblins all
I smelled a fearful smell
Until at last I reached a hall
And knew that hall was hell

I screamed, I yelled, I tore my eyes
Away from this damned sight
I felt myself returning up
To the world of song and light

I woke up then and made a vow
That I would change my ways
That I would live a better life
And give to God all praise

Reminds me of the book I read by Mary Baxter, Revelations of Hell, I believe it was called. Splendid deep thought read. Well done Patricia
