Hello Wallflower Poem by Monica O'Connor

Hello Wallflower

2008

Forever more I lay low,
A best friend, so loyal I remain,
Nothing moving by my side.
Dirty is the ground beneath,
My mouth full of it,
Your vile, dirty secrets,
Still in my throat, disgust remains,
Forcing me under, deeper into filth,
Poison it becomes, a bomb explosion
Any moment there’ll be expulsion.
Find me a way to reset my motion,
For living, breathing, being,
All foreign to my buried soul and I.
I’m becoming a notion,
Don’t forget me.
I’ve remember what you said.
Every.
Single.
Word.
