Help Me To Cross Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Help Me To Cross

Rating: 5.0

“Uncle, can you help me to cross the road”
Five years child was in dilemma with load
He was separated in crowd from family
I could hardly stop thinking and felt it as silly

I found an answer for all my burning questions
Some of them remained unaddressed and had no solution
I got the answer within minute from child’s anxiety
You need some one to cross over uncertainty

Many things crossed empty mind
Why was I worrying so much for it to find?
Many unhappy souls may be traced or found all over
All may need some solutions for cover

I have prayed and practiced true religion
Read many books and talked with many in regions
What did they think and practiced in time of crisis?
What was their faith and clearly open emphasis?

“We lived as usual and lost no courage”
“We felt no nervousness and could manage”
We don’t worry about tomorrow and die today
We help ourselves to find or take the help in any way

I felt shy as to why I was only foolish on this earth
Why was I scared so much about invisible fear of death?
Why did I care about things which were just in conception?
Why prayers were not made to almighty for right adoption?

I looked with the suspicion and blamed cunning mind
Why was that tiny part remaining aloof and blind?
Why hundreds of persuasions were not making it to budge?
I found the answer and blamed self without any grudge

If child can find way and others live with simple calculation
What the hell was I wasting precious time for questions?
When simple answer was lying within inner walls
What was needed to make frantic search and calls?

We are responsible for running after oasis water
We know for sure that it is beyond our limit to alter
We can argue with self about the ways to deal with
But certainly not blessed with or armed with teeth

I slept whole night with full satisfaction
Neither was it related with any such excitation
Nor with fulfillment of any such indication
It was purely evident from self exploration

It is easy to live with whatever we have
The desire may be natural for more to crave
Yet we can put some halt to expectations
As it has all the ways to put the limitations
