Henji Poem by Mark Trajano

Henji

Leaves fell and snow came falling
telling me time has truly been passing.
Looking back at the writing of yours
made me go back a decade's course.
Now, I remember why the pen has ceased
for words can't describe what is missed.
Struggled to write an expression for you
has made me drift and miss my cue.
Now I have grown and seen through it all
imperfect as it may be, it's this simple:
Emotions erupted when I read your poem
oh how much my mind and heart can't fathom!
Why be so far away from me Guru
it seems we can't see this through?
Flowers bloomed and birds are chirping
to the waves you have been sending.
One day, when we get to see each other
no other entity will be able to bother.
Until that day slowly but surely arrives
I hope and pray it would be within this lives.
