Her bravery

I retired in nineteen eighty four
The capital city of Punjab faced terror
Daily we used to witness bank break
Still it was calm and confined to law break

Terrorists may come with weapons
The police was reaching after they had gone
It was open call by fundamentalists
Siren may ring and we shall hide in homes at nights

The menace was increasing
Many people were leaving
I reached home and breathed freely
As it had become occurrence daily

The golden temple episode was solved
The holy site was cleared
The threat of her life was increasing
The terrorists were grouping and openly insisting

"Keep no security guards from particular community"
No, she firmly turned down the angle of security
What the people of country may think?
"I may go down and sink" she never blinked

She had known threats
But never thought of such fate
Entire magazine of bullets was pumped on her
She became real martyr

I felt so let down
She was dominantly known
She proved to be tough lady
Nation paid homage for her bravery
