Her Silenced Soul Poem by Amanda Strickland

Her Silenced Soul

The darkness creeps over me
All light is fading away
I can't see where I'm going
I can hear the voices calling
So I walk forward blindly
Toward the screamind and crying
I take in a breath, deep
I know I'm alive
My foot trips me
And, as I cry out, I fall
Suddenly I'm forced to be quiet
My lips stitched shut
I'm still falling, quietly
I try to scream through silent lips
I hit the ground hard
And stand, Im weak
But I'm still strong
Slowly a dim green light
And a mirror before me beholds the sight
The sight of my silenced soul
I still stand, weak but tall
Not leting emotion fill my eyes
I hold my breath and face my hidden lies
I'm not shocked
On my heels I rock
Barley touching the glass
I watch as my silened soul shatters
Before my eyes
