Her Story Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Her Story

The pages are torn
the words are smeared.
I read the nightmares
of all that she feared.

Each chapter leaves me breathless
as I read between the lines.
She always told me
that everything was fine.

It was her cry for help
with the paper and ink.
But a little bit of her slipped away
every time she blinks.

Nobody knew it.
It took everyone by surprise.
These pages are her world
the story filled with lies.
