Herbert Poem by Sandra Osborne

Herbert

Rating: 1.6

Lightning flashes,
Rolling thunder,
Australian connections,
A muse down under.

Reading his, Kelly's
And more,
A poetry calling,
At our core.

Friends, so willing,
The shining few,
Kindred spirits,
Before we knew.

Somewhat older,
The other younger,
Fill my soul,
Cause me to hunger.

The greatest gift,
A friend to be,
And all I have
To be, is me.

You and Kelly have both been so kind to me. I wanted to thank you both for the poetry going on in my head. Thank you.

Sandra: I didn't know that my capacity to be humble would ever be needed outside some very hairy situations elsewhere. I cannot believe that someone would be so nice/kind/? to write a poem that has my name tagged onto it. Although you should have given Kelly more space as he is the real poet, I love this gesture and thank you profusely for it. What can I say? How many kindred spirits can one man have? Goethe had a few as he does not reveal in his poem April, which my 'ancient' kindred spirit introduced me to. A wonderful surprise! And from the American heartland? Lovely. H
