Herd Poem by Darlan M Cunha

Herd

*

Grazing and ruminating, because you're a cow
or he's an ox, he keeps himself as such, and so
open your mouth on the grass, the muzzle on the grass,
look at the ravings of the field, and their ravings
also standing by, today is St. Thomas' day -
the unbeliever - the one I see only to believe,
and this is a good example of how to take
life always with one foot behind it, and the trident
right in front of the body, bezel and binoculars
and the backpack well stocked with diamonds and grenades.
Grazing, ruminating and shouting, that the world
does not belong to everyone.
