Here Again Poem by The Poet Darkling

Here Again

Here again are these feelings that keep welling up inside
Taking me for a ride, making me swallow my pride
Til I've got no pride left, nor any words to say
No way to make you stay, or get me to go away

I'm stuck in the middle of both Heaven and Hell
With no future to foretell, and no answer when I yell
Just an echo in my head, cuz when I yell you don't hear
Always turning a deaf ear, while I struggle to get near

So tell me why you're scared, is it that you're scared of me?
Do you doubt my honesty? Is there something you foresee?
Or is it because of her, the way she left you there
As if she didn't have a care, so completely unaware?

Unaware of you, the way you're unaware now
Of this worry on my brow for the what and if and how
How can this really be that you've no answers to give?
No memories to relive because your head is like a sieve

All the memories have leaked out and fallen at my feet
But I find solace bittersweet in the Devil's cruel deceit
Cuz although the Devil lies, there's still truth there if you look
Wrote in the pages of his book are his truths for lies mistook

Because we hear what we want, not always what is said
But what is made up in our head, those little reasons that we bled
So here again are we, stubbornly standing toe-to-toe
Each trading blow for blow, yet neither one of us will go
