Here Comes Frankenstein Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Here Comes Frankenstein

Climb the faded tower and see
They spliced the genes of fish with tomatoes
They want the tomatoes to look fresh
Supreme Court rules on the side of industry
Intellectual property over nature
They let corporation’s patent life
They are changing species
Creating dominant strains
They can copyright genetically modified products
Clarence Thomas was a Monsanto lawyer
Five too four rulings again and again
Biotechnology runs rampant
Gene splicing on a world level
Coca Cola wants fresh water
They go into poor countries and ruin them
The World Bank supports cash crops
Only one percent of the population benefit
Stockholders and the super rich, real wages decline
Pharmaceutical industry drugs everyone
Globalize the world into corporate fences

Species decline, rain forests cut
Huge parks support lions, tigers
Everything becomes preserves and zoos
Everything is looked at like commodities
They have spliced spider genes with goats
They want the strong spider thread
Who gives them the right?
So little political will
Salmon farms with treated fish
Cows that no longer graze and eat corn
Industry changing life patterns
Massive cruelty to animals
Pigs are smarter than dogs
Many never graze and some don’t even stand
Chickens with broken legs because of growth hormones
Never even seeing sunlight
Pumped up with hormones like they are not alive
These animals are pumped with antibiotics
They live and die unhealthy
All for profit and we say nothing

They are going to change man
They tamper where they do not belong
They say the evil is over in Pakistan
Look and see the evil all around
Look and see how our food is controlled
See all the genetically modified products
They don’t even tell us how far they have gone
Science in the hands of money and profit
Mixing species until they will create a genetic disease
More and more bionic organs
More and more artificial intelligence mixed with bionics
They will develop brain chips and sell genes and organs
They will mix man with other species
No God, no ethics only profit, patents and control
Knowledge in the hands of Dracula
CEO’s making a thousand times more then a worker
Billionaires and beggars
We have come along way haven’t we?
1984 and Brave New World
A new age of biotechnology in the hands of conglomerates
Man over man produces a strange new man

Frankenstein is on its way
