Here I Stand Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Here I Stand

Rating: 5.0

Loving you came easy
Thought you were all that my heart needed
You charmed me into submission
And nowadays I stand here alone, as if you've never existed
How could you walk out on me so fast
After I've given you the key to my heart
I trusted you to store it some place safe
Turning my whole world upside down
Right in front of my eyes
I watched from the outside as we crumbled and turn into ash
And from that point on I'd never be the same
Bearing the weight of the pain that you've caused
I tried to be strong but all i could do was
breakdown and cry
Because i loved you, loved you with all my heart
and now that same heart which use to pump fire has now turned cold
