Here Lies A Man Poem by norman hale

Here Lies A Man

Here lies a man
Six feet under the green
He gave us his all
He was a USA Marine

He left back family
And so many friends
He loved God and country
Right up until the end

Now he lays there
Beneath that cold ground
On Judgment day he'll rise up
Just in time to get his crown

He gave us his all
Before he fell
Trying to help strangers
From their living Hell

His family will miss him
For years to come and pass
Their tears have fallen
Like rain up on the glass

His body lays there
Beneath the grass and ground
Loved ones come to visit him
With a weeping sound

There are those that say
He was laid to rest
After all this soldier
Was put to his test

No one knows for sure
What went on in that battlefield
There are that ponder
Where was God and His mighty shield
