Here to the east
Where the trees whispered me
That they last sighted Dawn….
Russet dusk to the east
I therefore must turn
My looks
My thoughts
confirmed
Turkish mosques
And sultry Arab
Songs:
Lamentations funereal; not just for to-day's toll
An Indian temple courtyard
Soft tiptoes of dancing
The Arab with sandals
Hurried the street
Loser in arms relative
But wiser each day
That in the slum of injustice
Where civilization that had him
Stoned
Was.
We wiser grow said the Sphinx
But older grow
As we wiser grow.
‘Thus Immortality necessary, 'said the Sphinx.
