Here Today And Then Gone Tomorrow Poem by RIC BASTASA

Here Today And Then Gone Tomorrow

and when shall i escape from
this trap of love
from this trappings of poetry
which all revolve around me
and you?

from when shall i be of social
relevance to this incoming wars
that shall destroy everything from
love to annihilation?

wake me up, dear Earth
wake me up, dear Galaxy
wake me up, pour me rain
pour me stars and planets
and all those empty spaces
pull me out from this
stupidity, from this mess,
from this useless sorrow...

take me to the celestial skies
make me a star
or a comet
let me be another shot
of this universe

here today and then gone tomorrow.
