Hey There Sweetie Poem by David Thomas

Hey There Sweetie

I saw you walk in the door
and i fell to the floor
like a pup in love,
all of my fears out i shoved,
i just wanted to make room
for the likes of you and i

i listened to your voice
and watched myself make a choice,
that i'd actually love again
and without knowing it,
you showed me this was not pretend
away we go, let's go again!

i dream at night of our first kiss,
of how it drives me into bliss
the sweet sensation of our lips
like strawberries and cream
we fit together, a perfect dream

except that this is real...
except that this is real...
oh yes, finally this is real...
