Hidden Poem by soren Barrett

Hidden

A lone tree in a forest, nothing to set it apart
Not the biggest or the smallest, in shade gets its start
In the shadows of giants steadily it grows
Amongst many grand and old, unnoticed it goes

Not aware of how time did creep, the tree for years did sleep
Unnoticed by itself and all about it, a sapling's roots grew deep
A hundred years it passes in shadows of the tall
Over a century now, where once surrounding giants have grown small

Now it shades those giants that once towered above its crown
Those that looked down on it now below it sit as it looks down
