Hidden Feelings Poem by Edwina Reizer

Hidden Feelings

Why do some hide their innermost feelings
and let them fester inside?
Feelings of despair, of hopelessness,
things you cannot hide.
They're seen on the faces and in the eyes
for the entire world to see.
Better to let them all come out
with tears flowing easily.

Hidden thoughts can stick to you
and never come unglued.
But out in the open they lose their power
and slowly can be strewed
into the nethers where they belong,
the land that's down below.
Once they're there they don't come back
because you openly know
they're gone.
