Him Poem by Kimberly Candace

Him

He stands in the hall with his friends as insecurity overwhelms his body. Every motion is impulse. Every thought is paranoia. In his mind he has no friends, only people who are to polite to walk away. He never worries about tomorrow, for he is never sure it will come. His worst enemy is loneliness yet they walk hand in hand as though they were prisoners of war each controlling the other. He believes that the end of the world will come soon, within his lifetime, but he has planned out his life to satisfy that he is wrong. He fears the life of his family and even more the loss of their souls. He fears his actions have greatly disrupted the lives of many, leaving then hopeless in resolving the problems he has created for them. He feels the fears he has left have a lot of people very disappointed and given them sufficient reason not to like him. He feels inferior to all and valued by none. He feels he is a nuisance and it would be a benefit to everyone if he were no longer around. He is a very unfortunate person, but maybe after his teenage years he will straightened out. There is always hope.
