His Country Girl Poem by Joyce Hemsley

His Country Girl

Sweet country girl, I now unfurl
the love I hold for thee,
and how I find pure peace of mind
when you give your heart to me.

We are as one, and we are young
dear maid in jeans of blue...
I love you well, in love I fell
with pretty graceful you.

As months go by, I wonder why
God sent you to my side;
a rare gem-stone to call my own
my future country bride.

When village church bells chime
I shall know that you are mine.
