His Face Poem by Brittany Wright

His Face

Wipes her tears as she sighs
No one here to see her cry

Now his sweatshirts, is all she holds
How does a room so warm feel so cold

How can true love
Make her so sad
She didn’t think
That it would hurt this bad

She tries to force a smile
Cause she wouldn’t see him for awhile
But this smile is just for show
She doesn’t want the world to know
That she lies awake each night
Hoping he’ll appear
She closes her eyes
And pretends he’s really here

Though her pillow is comfy
It cannot take his place
She would anything do anything
Just to see his face
