His Future Girlfriend Poem by Emily Thompson

His Future Girlfriend

Rating: 4.3

I pray at night for his future girlfriend
that she'll get out before it's too late.
I pray he won't suffocate her head in lies
by leading her on with false hopes of faith.
I pray she'll find the confidence sucked from her soul
especially when he turns it into a giant hole.
I pray she doesn't wait for text and calls
to receive no reply as if talking to a wall.
I pray she doesn't spend $300 on her hair
to have him tell her he doesn't care.
I pray she stops thinking about him now and then
so she doesn't loose sight of her personal zen.
I pray she doesn't stay up all night and cry
because she's mad at God asking why.
I pray she doesn't expect flowers and dates
because none of these things are in her fate.
I pray she doesn't expect trust and honesty
because the only promise he'll make is 'probably'.
I pray she never finds out she hasn't won
because she will never be the only one.
I pray because i understand
the pain the lies beneath his plan.

Wisdom often comes with a well executed and expensive price tag... was kind of you, to pass the knowledge along, perhaps saving someone else the hardship..There will be legions of once starry-eyed, love-is-blind believers, who will readily recognize themselves herein. Honest write, well done! PEACE
