History Poem by Raymond Farrell

History

Rating: 5.0

History
Is not what
The people
At the government arhives say
Is written in their accounts
It's not what the professors
At universities teach
To be the facts
Which they have gleaned
From secondary sources
All this and so much more
Propagated in print
And by the mass media
In general
Is a contrived history
That only serves
To distort and coverup
The real history
Which lives on
In the memory
Of the people
Who lived it
And those to whom
They told it
Search out those people
If you want
To know history
And pay little attention
To the false history
Being propagated
By the establishment
And its institutions
That is written
In other people's blood
To aggrandize the victors
Or free them from blame.

Incredibly powerful and I see. But Could we handle the truth?
