Holding Back Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Holding Back

Rating: 5.0

Must I continue to hold off
Although I don't deny you
Just find you intriguing
As you attempt to dare my inner truths
And I defy your every move
Yet I admit perceiving a sense of affection
But don't fully trust your intentions
So I'd go against you,
Challenging what you may perceive of me
Must you continue to push up
Thought you felt nothing for me
But actions speak louder than words
As you attempt to dare my inner truths
And I defy your every move
You now display a sense of affection
But want to understand the mystery
So you'd question your curiosity
And find no answer to resolve the problem
Must we continue with the flirting
This game we play will lead us to destruction
