Hollyhocks And Sweet Peas Poem by Marilyn Lott

Hollyhocks And Sweet Peas

Hollyhocks and sweet peas
Make my world go ‘round
I start their seeds in the house
Then plant them in the ground.

The Hollyhocks grow so very tall
Almost as tall as the house
I have to tie them up, you see
With some help from my spouse.

The Sweet Peas also need each year
Some help with simple strings
Their little feelers grab ahold
So beauty is what it all means.

In the fall as they start to fade
I clip Hollyhocks for my vases
The Sweet Peas I clip all summer
Finally there are no traces.

So enjoy your flowers, every one
They can grow amongst the trees
Enjoy them as I always enjoy
My Hollyhocks and Sweet Peas!
