Holy And Sacred Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Holy And Sacred

Rating: 5.0

Mother land is holy and sacred
We must believe and be led
If mother is to be believed
Motherland is to be protected

How many young people still sacrifice?
What do they see in homeland with promise?
Clear way for country people
Just believe in their efficiency and struggle

They are not goats to be butchered
The country people should not be misled
There is no fun in underlying their sacrifice
They deserve everything including social life

See that they are always taken in high esteem
Attack on their life is causing great concern
They have family and children at home
Cause no criticism and welcome

No autumn or spring ever attracts
Only enemy strikes with attack
Take toll of many soldiers
For want of no crime of offers

We enjoy the paradise
But loose the charm with merchandise
Everything is weighed in terms of money
Where can we find safe refuge and honey?

Wonderful poem sir! I would imagine of a land where the need to protect ceases to exist. How would it be if there would be no enemy! What is the reaction going on your mind right now? Rejection? Smile? Acceptance? Disbelief? Absurd? Would a state of enemylessness make us blunt or simple, would that cause tremor to our 'raison d'être' or would it scale up our 'joie de vivre'! Warm regards,

Very thoughtful poem, Hasmukh ji, that raises many pertinent issues. Yes, the brave sons of the motherland deserve much better, when the rest of the people are leading profane lives. Warm regards, GSP Rao, Hyderabad Mar 27,2014
