Holy Daze Poem by Paul Brookes

Holy Daze

bells ring brazen
dripping echo's on cobbled streets
the Sunday sacrifice performed
bread and wine wine and bread
heads come out holy sin free
smelling of intense incensed incense
rising to heaven in benediction
god coughs eyes watering
we of sore knees lasso the deity
tangle in rosery beads
the rain comes acid.
