Home At Last Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Home At Last

The sun scorched the pathway
beneath my tired feet.
I had walked for ten miles
in the overpowering heat.

On arriving at the river
I rested for awhile
as my journey would continue
for many a mile.

Aching limbs I immersed
in the cool-flowing stream
and all pain disappeared
as if in a dream.

Then on my lonely way I wandered
but such peace I had found...
Twas the end of my story,
~~~Homeward Bound~~~
