Homophonic Peace Poetry Piece Poem by Kimberly Burnham

Homophonic Peace Poetry Piece

Have you seen a piece of art
in a peaceful museum

Taken a peek
at looming mountain peaks

Or used a plain graphite pencil
to draw a plane

Been in awe of the painter's presence
as she presents a present to the museum

Or imagined riding on a small country road
where the man in the photograph rode a horse

Noticed the difference between a pair crashing wave
as passengers wave from the ship

And tried to figure out whether
to trust the weather reporter's prediction of rain

Felt weak from a cold
for a week but not a day more

Or put a coin into the donation box
so you could walk in too

Lost patience with the lighting of a painting
of a battle scene full of wounded patients

Or contemplated a pair of lovers
observing a still life with three pears
