Honk Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Honk

Honk

After learning address
Took backpack, decided:
"It is time for picture."

Expected to see owls,
Perching on the said bough
Or near some window
Hooting for partner.

Followed the plan, set,
No trace of the birds
Saw a goose, instead,
Honk, cry; was single.

Eyes and mind of poet
Got sad and shed tears.

I feel the abandoned,
If widow or orphaned!

Suddenly turned the page,
Approached odd formation,
Of the geese, filled the air!

Felt smile of my face:
"It will have partner,
Male, female, or a gay! "

Took photos of cabbage,
Green leaves with yellow
And the dick in middle!

On trees; neither boughs
Saw nothing of the owls!

Smell of joint and hemp
Spread, filled park's air,
As homeless were added!

Took pictures from one,
Departed, said goodbye!
