Hook, Line & Sinker Poem by John Howard Davies

Hook, Line & Sinker

HOOK, LINE & SINKER
Jock Davies 19th. July 2017

I'm too much of a thinker
a smiler, a winker
a moderate drinker
who's out on a limb

Some say I'm a stinker
others a tinker
as my pale skin gets pinker
in this age that I'm in

I get cold in the winter
if I read Harold Pinter
they should have kept my placenta
that made me this kin

A boat made in clinker
can be a good sinker
a real rinky dinker
if it's just made of tin

I've sat long on my sphincter
in great danger of splinters
one corker one minter
as I holla a din

I stare 'round my blinker
at my hook, line and sinker
spilling words from my printer
so even more can I grin
